Challanges

  1. Before this project, I had never used any animation functions in Figma. However I found LinkedIn learning and YouTube videos were extremely useful to get my design skills up to speed.

  2. Due to time constraints, I was not able to conduct more than one primary usability evaluation. Instead, I validated my remaining assumptions with secondary research and surveys leveraging social media platforms.

Proto Persona

I created a proto persona to maintain a user-centred design approach and to fully understand the root problem behind why the target user has a passive energy-saving attitude by addressing and refining the target user's pain points, End and Experiential goals

Evaluation

I used the Marvel app to carry out qualitative lo-fi user testing. The participant was asked to ‘Talk Aloud’. The participant met the criteria of being a female, enabling insights into how women interact with technology. However, she is not a mother which poses certain limitations on the testing outcome such as her ability to truly emphasise a mother's values.

In the session, the participant 'body stormed’ scene 1 from the context scenario storyboard. She was lying down on her bed scrolling through the lo-fi mock-up.
